About us

Clockworks, The Clock Repair Shop was founded by Harrison Wood in 1952. Originally from Lancashire, Harrison settled and studied his craft in Paris after the Second World War where he married and started a family.

After serving his time and qualifying as a master horologist, he relocated to London where he built his reputation and refined his specialism in fine antique clock repair and restoration whilst undertaking commissions for bespoke fine quality modern clocks, in particular three train skeleton clocks and orrery clocks.

Since then, two more generations of Harrison have joined the company, unfortunately Harrison has now passed away, his son John has taken the reigns and has now relocated back to where it all began centrally in Lancashire which is our main workshop, administration office and customer service centre for all areas, along with two further workshops covering Barnsley and Yorkshire. This allows us to comfortably offer our full range of services throughout Lancashire, Barnsley and Yorkshire without compromise to our first class customer service.

We have a wealth of knowledge and skills and all our work is done in house by our own staff which include a cabinet maker, French polisher and dial restorer. The same core values, and impeccable customer service which were set by Harrison are still in place today.

We guarantee all our customers a first class customer service and workmanship second to none.
